  • Risk is Greatest for Women
They are the primary caregivers for their spouses;
Their Life Expectancy is longer than men;
They are more prone to chronic illness that require long-term care, such as Arthritis and Osteoporosis;
They have fewer informal caregivers;
Their retirement income is less.
  • Who are the Caregivers?*
80% of all care received by older adults is provided by family and friends;
One out of every four households (22.4 million) is involved in providing care to an older adult;
One out of every five caregivers are balancing work and Caregiving.
