Demographics: Medi-Cal Applicants via CoveredCa.com

The Department of Health Care Services has worked closely with Covered California since the October 1, 2013 launch of the www.CoveredCA.com enrollment website. This joint effort to enroll consumers in Medi-Cal and other health coverage under the Affordable Care Act (ACA) has greatly expanded coverage opportunities for uninsured and underinsured Californians. From the initial launch of the website last October, through March 31, 2014, 1.65 million CoveredCA applicants have been determined likely eligible for Medi-Cal.  Many of them are among the newly eligible population that first became eligible for Medi-Cal on January 1, thanks to the new expanded eligibility standards of the ACA.

You can also review the Medi-Cal population totals by county.
