This download file contains the tables in the 2001 Annual
Statistical Report.  The Annual Statistical Report presents statistical
data on Medi-Cal program services, expenditures, and eligibles for
Calendar Year 2001.  

The download file (ann01xls.exe) is a self-extracting compressed file. 
The file is compressed (or zipped) into a self-extracting file. 
To decompress (or unzip) simply double-click (using your mouse)
on the ".exe" filename, the "WinZip Self-Extractor" dialog box will appear,
select the location of where to decompress (unzip) the file to (where you want 
the Excel file to reside), and select the Unzip button. Once the file is 
decompressed (unzipped) a confirmation dialog box will appear, at this point,
select the "OK" button and then close the "WinZip Self-Extractor" dialog box.  
These files were created with Microsoft Excel.

These tables present statistical data on Medi-Cal program services, expenditures, and
eligibles for Calendar Year 2001.

County Welfare Departments determine eligibility for all Medi-Cal eligibles with the
exception of Supplemental Security Income/State Supplementary Payment (SSI/SSP)
eligibles, who have their eligibility determined by the Social Security Administration.

Persons eligible for Medi-Cal are reported to the Medi-Cal Eligibility Data System
(MEDS) by the County Welfare Departments, the State, and the Social Security
Administration.
