On July 1st, 2009, the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) officially renamed the Medical Care Statistics Section to RASS. This transition recognized the shift in RASS' primary focus from data extraction to analytic consulting.
RASS restructured the website to highlight the Section’s new name and mission, to enhance the available content, and to validate that all presented content meets privacy and security regulations. The accessible content reflects the completion of Phase I of RASS’ goal for enhancing its website. RASS is working on Phase II of its goal, which is focused on promoting additional enhanced content to the website.
