Tips for Manipulating Excel Pivot Tables (PDF)
The current Medi-Cal Enrollment by Zip Code pivot table presents preliminary information. RASD is currently working on a 12-month lagged pivot table to replace this version. For the time being, any use of this data must include a footnote citing that the data is not fully lagged.
Data in this table has been aggregated to comply with the California Welfare and Institutions Code, Section 14100.2, and the HIPAA Privacy Rule, 45 CFR, Parts 160 and 164, which are designed to safeguard Protected Health Information and Personal Confidential Information.
This report provides counts of those individuals who are both eligible, and enrolled as certified eligibles. Certified eligibles do not include individuals who may be eligible to enroll in the program, but have not enrolled. In addition, the definition used here only includes beneficiaries who are eligible to receive Medi-Cal covered health care services during the month. This means that eligibles who must meet a share-of-cost (SOC), but have not met their monthly SOC are not included in the counts. Specific populations, such as California’s Family PACT and Presumptive eligibles, are also not included in the certified eligible counts.
Medi-Cal eligibility records are updated monthly. The zip codes reflected in this report are the most recent available.
All zip codes that are blank, invalid, fall outside of the State of California, or have counts of 15 or less have been grouped as "Other."
