DHCS Business Associate Use

The Business Associate Agreement (BAA) stipulates that the the Department's business associates must protect the privacy and security of the Protected Health Information (PHI) and Personal Information (PI) that may be created, received, maintained, transmitted, used or disclosed pursuant to the BAA and to comply with certain standards set forth by both Federal and State Privacy Laws. It is important for DHCS business associates to work collaboratively with the Privacy Office to ensure beneficiaries' information is properly safeguarded.
