Better Care Reconciliation Act (BCRA) Analysis

The Department of Health Care Services has prepared a preliminary fiscal analysis of the Medicaid provisions in the BCRA.  The BCRA adds potentially $30 billion annually to the state’s cost of funding by fundamentally changing the relationship between states and the federal government regarding the administration of the Medicaid program.  The current proposal represents a significant shift of costs from the federal government to states.
