Fraud Prevention and Awareness
In September 2011, the California Department of Health Care Services partnered with both public and private groups to raise awareness of Healthcare Fraud and provide steps to reduce patient and provider risk. Together with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services, the California Medical Association, the California State Attorney General, the Office of Inspector General and the Senior Medicare Patrol, a series of 23 presentations were made throughout California. Subject matter experts spoke on the following themes:
· Protect Yourself and Your Medical Identity
· Protect and Preserve Your Patient Relationships
· Protect You Practice – Monitoring Your Medical Record Documentation
As part of the Department’s ongoing commitment to Fraud Prevention and Awareness, all Power Point modules used during the presentations are now available as an Adobe PDF for your review.
