The Resource Center maintains a comprehensive collection of alcohol and other drug prevention and treatment information for California providers and individuals. These free services are accessible by letter, fax, online, email, telephone, or in person Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm. The Resource Center provides non-emergency information only.

The SUD Resource Center contains more than 700 informational booklets, pamphlets, research papers, posters, technical manuals, and other helpful materials related to substance use disorders available for conferences, trainings, and general use at no cost for California residents.

Lending Services carries a collection of books, journals, reports and videos specializing in substance use disorders. These materials are loaned directly to government agencies, including schools/school districts, and organizations licensed and certified by the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) and/or are funded through a county alcohol and drug program. Materials are also lent directly to state, county and public libraries.

A Loan Agreement Form (PDF) must be completed and on file in the SUD Resource Center prior to processing a request for materials.
Once approved, please use the Media Request Form (PDF) to order materials.
Effective with the passage of the 2013-2014 Budget Act and associated legislation, the Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs (ADP) no longer exists as of July 1, 2013. All ADP programs and staff, except the Office of Problem Gambling, transferred to the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS).
