Governor's Budget Proposal 2025-26

The proposed 2025-26 Governor's Budget for DHCS allocates $200.6 billion in total funds, including $45 billion from the General Fund, and supports 4,749.5 positions. This budget builds on past investments to transform Medi-Cal into a more coordinated, person-centered, and equitable health system, serving millions of Californians. It also focuses on modernizing the behavioral health delivery system by enhancing accountability, transparency, and strengthening community-based care. These efforts aim to improve health outcomes while addressing the diverse needs of Medi-Cal members and their communities.

Enhanced Care Management and Community Supports See Major Growth Statewide

DHCS published the latest quarterly report on Enhanced Care Management (ECM) and Community Supports, highlighting continued growth and impact across California. Since ECM launched in 2022, more than 326,000 Medi-Cal members have received care coordination services, including a nearly threefold increase in children and youth enrollment in 2024. Community Supports have reached over 368,000 members, delivering nearly 1 million services like housing and nutrition support. This expansion helps Medi-Cal members stay healthier, avoid hospital visits, and access services that support stability and well-being.
