MMCD - SB 208 Data Workgroup
Mandated by Senate Bill 208 (Chapter 714, Statutes of 2010), this stakeholder workgroup has been convened to review the existing encounter, claims, and financial data submission requirements in Medi-Cal managed care plan contracts. Per statute requirements, the group’s membership includes interested representatives from Medi-Cal managed care health plans, managed care health plan associations, hospitals, individual health care providers, physician groups, and consumer representatives. After receiving input from the stakeholder workgroup, the DHCS will update its data quality submission standards for Medi-Cal managed care plans. These updated requirements are to be in effect in plan contracts by January 1, 2012. In accordance with Section 14182.1 of the Welfare and Institutions Code, the new requirements will include a financial penalty that may be imposed for each month that a Medi-Cal managed care health plan fails to submit data in compliance with the new standards.
