School-Based Medi-Cal Administrative Activities (SMAA) Invoices - State Fiscal Year (SFY) 2011/12 - Second Quarter
The SMAA Program is notifying all claiming units that any outstanding 2011/12 - 2nd Quarter invoices must be received in our office no later than Tuesday, December 3, 2013. Due to the 2011 Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) Deferral, it is necessary for SMAA to notify the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) Accounting Section of outstanding invoices no later than the required due date regardless if the invoices can be paid or not to ensure the two-year federal financial participation is met. However, once the deferral is satisfied, any invoices that are in DHCS Accounting Section will be processed for payment. For those claiming units which have been approved by CMS for release from the deferral, any invoices currently submitted to DHCS are being processed and forwarded to DHCS Accounting Section for immediate payment. If for some reason, you have not already submitted your 2011/12 - 2nd Quarter invoice to our office, please do so by the requested due date. In addition, although a claiming unit may have been approved by CMS for release from the deferral prior to the implementation of the revised Reasonableness Test Criteria (RTC), those invoices are subjected to comply with the requirements of the revised RTC.
Therefore, any claiming units that have not submitted their invoices for the 2011/12 - 2nd Quarter, they must be received in our office no later than Tuesday, December 3, 2013.
