Pediatric Palliative Care Waiver

In accordance with AB 1745, the California Department of Health Services, Children’s Medical Services Branch, and the Medi-Cal program are partnering with federal Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services to devise a pediatric palliative care waiver for the children of California. This is a new program that will allow eligible children and their families to receive palliative care services during in the course of the child’s illness, while concurrently pursuing curative treatment for the child’s life limiting or life threatening medical condition.
