Health Publication Finder

In collaboration with the Information Technology Services Division, OCPM created and maintains an Internet website, the Health Publications Finder, (http://www.healthpublicationsfinder.dhs.ca.gov) to enable the public to obtain descriptive and ordering information, as well as on-line copies, of CDPH and DHCS publications and other materials.  This information is submitted and maintained by staff at the program level through an intranet web page, the Health Publications Index (http://cm.int.dhs.ca.gov/healthpubindex/).  The Health Publications Index link is not available to the public.

Publication information is divided into two types: 1) health education materials designed for the general public, and 2) technical publications designed for scientists and professionals.  A person may search for all publications or focus a search on one type. 

In 2004, the website won the Association of State and Territorial Health Officials’ Vision Award and the National Public Health Information Coalition’s Best Intranet and Internet Web Sites.

With the transition to separate CDPH and DHCS websites in the SharePoint format, the future of the Health publications Portal is being reassessed.
