Pharmacy Benefits Division and Vision Care Program
The Pharmacy Benefits Division develops and implements policy for the Department’s Medi-Cal fee-for-service drug program, serving 6.8 million beneficiaries in the State of California. The Division negotiates contracts with drug manufacturers, collects rebates from manufacturers, and maintains the Medi-Cal List of Contract Drugs, which is the list of drugs available without prior authorization to Medi-Cal beneficiaries. The Division is also responsible for the administration of the medical supply and nutritional benefits programs as well as the Medi-Cal Vision Care Benefit program.
