State of California, Health and Human Services Agency Department of Health Care Services Toby Douglas, Director Edmund G. Brown, Jr, Governor July 15, 2013 Dear Drug Medi-Cal Provider: The purpose of this letter is to inform Drug Medi-Cal (DMC) providers that in the next 18 months, the Department of Health C(lre Services (DHCS) will contact you to initiate a process for continued certification. This process will require the DMC provider's submission of an application package and supporting documentation to confirm that the provider continues to meet certification requirements. DHCS will contact each DMC provider to initiate this process at the business address currently on file. Compliance with the continued certification is necessary to continue as a participating DMC provider. As required in Title 22, California Code of Regulations (CCR), Section 51341.1 and the Drug Medi-Cal Certification Standards for Substance Abuse Clinics, the following actions require DMC providers to notify DHCS (formerly the Department of Alcohol and Drug Programs) at least 60 days prior to any changes with the submission of an application package for recertification; otherwise there is cause for an immediate disallowance of reimbursement for DMC services. • Adding Services • Adding a Satellite Site • Relocation • Expansion • Change of Ownership Do not wait for DHCS to contact you to initiate the continued certification process for reporting your upcoming changes. Applications for recertification must be submitted to the following address: Department of Health Care Services Substance Use Disorder Compliance Division Licensing and Certification Branch, MS 2600 P.O.
