Home and Community-Based Services (HCBS)
Advisory Workgroup Series
The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is committed to engaging in a public process for the design, development, and evaluation of the Money Follows the Person (MFP) grant-funded California Community Transitions (CCT) program that allows for input from eligible individuals, the families, providers, and other interested parties to enhance services provided to beneficiaries transitioning from long-term institutional settings to, and/or receiving care in, the community.
To this end, the DHCS’ Long-Term Care Division (LTCD) is convening a series of advisory workgroups to obtain input from consumers, their family members, and interested stakeholders with experience and expertise relative to specific initiatives impacting the expansion of providing HCBS to Medi-Cal beneficiaries transitioning out of long-term institutions to live and receive care in the community, as well as to the 1915(c) HCBS waivers utilized to provide the care in the community. DHCS has scheduled workgroup meetings over the course of the next 18 months through 2020 to shape and frame near-future policy.
Each Advisory Workgroup will meet face-to-face, in Sacramento, to focus on each initiative. Approximately two to three months before each workgroup's first meeting, the LTCD will release a request to stakeholders to solicit Statement[s] of Interest from those with experience and subject-matter expertise who would like to participate.
Workgroup 1: Enhancing CCT Delivery
Workgroup 2: Building the Longevity of Institutional Transitions to HCBS
Workgroup 3: Shaping the HCBS Delivery System
Workgroup 4: Establishing an Adequate HCBS Provider Network
Workgroup 5: The Future of HCBS
