Purchaser Survey
Since the California Partnership for Long-Term Care's target market are modest and middle income Californians, we need to be able to tell if our Partner insurance companies and agents are in fact focusing their efforts on modest and middle income Californians. In order for the Partnership to determine if this in fact is taking place, we needed to develop a survey to collect information from recent Partnership policy purchasers that would help us answer that question. For this reason, the California Partnership for Long-Term Care (CPLTC) began conducting a Partnership policy purchaser survey in the 1st quarter of 2003. This survey consists of a 50% random sample of Californians who purchased a Partnership policy as reported on a calendar quarter basis to the CPLTC by Partner insurance companies. The survey collects purchaser demographic characteristics, asset and income information, health and functional status, reasons for purchasing, and how purchasers heard about the Partnership. The data is evaluated to determine if the targeting requirements are being met. The findings are reported on an aggregate basis only. All efforts are made to make the survey anonymous. The survey is purely voluntary and recipients of this survey do not have to respond to it.
A client may contact you concerning their receipt of the survey. For example, he/she may be wondering what the survey is about, why they are being asked those questions or why the survey is necessary. Again, selection of a specific purchaser is purely random and completion of the survey is voluntary. The purpose is to help us evaluate the program's effectiveness. This should be sufficient information for most questions. However, should your client(s) need additional information, please feel free to refer them to our office at (916) 552-8990.
