Long Term Care Reimbursement AB 1629

The Rate Branch established the Long-Term Care System Development Unit (LTCSDU) in 2002. Unit staff research, develop, implement, and as appropriate, administer and oversee programs set forth in law that affect Medi-Cal reimbursement rates. The LTCSDU has responsibility for the programs listed below.

Long-Term Care Skilled Nursing Facility Quality Assurance Fee and Facility-Specific Reimbursement Methodology:

Assembly Bill (AB) 1629 (Chapter 875, Statutes of 2004) enacted the Skilled Nursing Facility Quality Assurance Fee (QAF) Program and the Medi-Cal Long Term Care Reimbursement Act. AB 1629 modified the method and rate of reimbursement to facilities for providing long-term care skilled nursing services to Medi-Cal beneficiaries.
