Gynecologic Cancers

Gynecologic cancers affect the reproductive sex organs of women including the vulva, vagina, cervix, uterus, fallopian tubes and ovaries.

Gynecologic cancer information program

In 1997, the Gynecologic Cancer Information Program (GCIP) was established in statute (California Health and Safety Code 138.4) within the Office of Women's Health to increase awareness and education regarding gynecologic cancers. The GCIP law requires medical providers to distribute to their patients information regarding women's gynecologic cancers, including signs and symptoms, risk factors, benefits of early detection through appropriate diagnostic testing, and treatment options.

Information on gynecologic cancers is available in ten languages and can be easily downloaded by clicking on the corresponding links below. The languages that are available include: English, Spanish, Chinese, Vietnamese, Korean, Farsi, Russian, Cambodian, Hmong, and Armenian.
