Substance Use Disorder Early Intervention, Treatment, and Recovery Services for Youth
Return to Prevention and Family Services webpage
The Perinatal and Youth Services Unit oversees the publicly-funded substance use disorder (SUD) programs for youth. This includes the development of the draft Youth Services Policy Manual, conducting Youth Advisory Group meetings, continuous research on youth SUD services, collaboration with counties, and the delivery of technical assistance regarding youth SUD services.
Counties and providers receiving Substance Abuse Prevention and Treatment Block Grant funds are required to follow the Youth Treatment Guidelines (YTG). The YTG outline the guidance for the delivery of SUD services to youth 12 through 17 years of age.
Statewide policy for SUD services for youth is addressed through the Youth Advisory Group stakeholder group.
