SMART - State Management Advisory and Response Team
The work group formerly known as SWAT (Staff Work Advisory Team) will now be known as SMART (Staff Management Advisory and Response Team). The focus of the team will remain the same; to provide consultation on Medi-Cal questions that are posted on the Frequently Asked Questions page of the Mental Health Services Division's website.
To clarify existing policy and to respond to questions from Mental Health Plans (MHPs) and other MH staff that has statewide implication.
To receive, analyze and respond to questions in a way that minimizes the duplication of efforts in responding to individual county inquiries having a broad, state-wide interest.
To maximize the promulgation of responses that is uniform and easily accessible.
Note: The purpose of the Staff Management Advisory and Response Team is not to make new policy but rather to clarify existing authority.
