Cal MediConnect Complaint and Resolution Tracking

Back to Managed Care Monitoring

Enacted under SB 1008 and SB 1036 the Coordinated Care Initiative (CCI) aims to incorporate Medicare and Medi-Cal services for seniors and persons with disabilities. Cal MediConnect is one component of the CCI and will be implemented in seven demonstration counties within California.

Cal MediConnect serves beneficiaries eligible for both Medi-Cal and Medicare (dual-eligibles), and combines the full range of acute, primary, institutional, and home and community-based Medicare and Medi-Cal services into a single benefit package delivered through an organized service delivery system administered by Medicare-Medicaid Plans.

The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) tracks Cal MediConnect consumer complaints.

Complaints

Cal MediConnect Plans are required to respond to all complaints assigned through the Complaints Tracking Module (CTM) in the Health Plan Management System administered by the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS). The Contract Management Team and Independent Ombudsman can input complaint data into the CTM. Cal MediConnect Plans are required to submit monthly complaint and resolution tracking data to DHCS per the requirement outlined in the Duals Plan Letter 14-001.
