Add a Link

Now that you’ve uploaded a file, let’s insert a link to it on a page and also include a link to another page.

Link to a File

Practice

  1. Use the Content Hub to find your page.
  2. Hover over the title of your page and click Edit.
  3. In the Editor Canvas, either create or select the text you want to turn into a link.
  4. Click the Link icon in the Block Toolbar.
  5. Choose one of these options:
    • Option A: Copy + Paste Permalink
      • Go to the file you uploaded.
      • Copy the Permalink from the File Details page.
      • Paste it into the link field.
    • Option B: Search for File Name
      • In the link field, type the file name.
      • WordPress will show matching files.
      • Select the correct file.
  6. Press Enter to apply the link.

Link to a Published Page

Practice

  1. In the Editor Canvas, either create or select the text you want to turn into a link.
  2. Click the Link icon in the Block Toolbar.
  3. In the link field, type the page title.
    • WordPress will show matching pages.
  4. Select the correct page.
  5. Press Enter to apply the link.

Link to an Unpublished Page

Practice

  1. Open the draft page you want to link to.
  2. In the Page Settings sidebar, find the Permalink section.
  3. Copy the draft page’s URL.
  4. Go to the page or post where you want to add the link.
  5. Highlight the text or select the block you want to turn into a link.
  6. Click the Link icon in the Block Toolbar.
  7. Paste the draft URL in the link field, then add a space.
  8. Press Enter to apply the link.
