January 12, 2011: Stakeholder Update: California's Pilot Program for Dual Eligibles
Funder: The SCAN Foundation
California’s Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is developing a pilot program for integrated care for its members who are dually eligible for Medicare and Medi-Cal and will be pursuing newly available federal funding to support this work. Through resources from The SCAN Foundation, the Center for Health Care Strategies coordinated this 90-minute webinar to give an update on the federal funding opportunity, DHCS plans for pilot development, and the challenges and benefits other states have experienced in developing integrated care for dual eligibles. The webinar included an example of “integration in practice” with an overview of New Mexico’s CoLTS integrated care approach. A major purpose of the webinar was to gather input from California stakeholders who are interested in the pilot project.
