Fiscal Intermediary – Dental Business Operations
The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is releasing this RFP #20-10354 on behalf of the DHCS Medi-Cal Dental Services Division (MDSD). The purpose of the RFP is to solicit proposals from firms that are able to provide administrative business services for the Medi-Cal Dental Program. This RFP solicits proposals for the takeover and operation of business services related to the operation of the Medi-Cal Dental fee-for-service Program, including the effective and efficient adjudication of suspended claims, Treatment Authorization Requests (TARs) and related documents, while improving upon a wide range of customer services to members and providers.
DHCS intends for the selected proposer to take over these business services while utilizing the existing California Dental Medicaid Management Information System (CD-MMIS) to meet State and federal regulations and requirements of Medi-Cal and other dental-related programs, as described in this RFP. Programs that currently utilize CD-MMIS claims/TARs processing and other related services include Medi-Cal, California Children’s Services Program (CCSP), the Genetically Handicapped Persons Program (GHPP) and Regional Center Consumers. The selected proposer will be required to work collaboratively with the dental Fiscal Intermediary Contractor, responsible for maintaining the CD-MMIS mainframe and automated adjudication processes, in order to meet mutual contract responsibilities.
