Newborn Hearing Screening Program
DHCS is soliciting proposals from firms that are able to establish and operate Hearing Coordination Centers (HCC) throughout the State of California, to identify newborns (children less than 29 days old) and infants (children 29 days through 12 months old) with hearing loss prior to three (3) months of age and link those newborns and infants, hereafter referred to as babies, to early intervention service providers by six (6) months of age; and collect and report data on babies receiving hearing screening services. Additionally, the Contractor must evaluate hospitals for Newborn Hearing Screening Program (NHSP) certification and monitor their compliance with applicable standards, and provide technical assistance in support of the NHSP.
DHCS intends to make a single contract award to the most responsive and responsible firm earning the highest score. This solicitation is open to all eligible firms and/or individuals that meet the qualification requirements, including commercial businesses, non-profit organizations, State or public universities (including auxiliary organizations) and other entities.
