The Local Dental Pilot Projects (LDPP) address Domains 1-3 through local pilot programs aimed at specific demographics. The goals are to address one or more of the three domains through alternative programs and potentially use strategies focused on rural areas, including local case management initiatives and education partnerships.
DHCS invited applicants and interested entities to submit proposals for pilots at the beginning of the Medi-Cal 2020 Demonstration. The LDPP agreements reflect the requirements described in the Medi-Cal 2020 Special Terms and Conditions, which include the identification of the lead and participating entities, target populations, collaboration plans, services and care coordination, pilot project innovations, interventions and/or strategies, data sharing, monitoring and reporting, financing structure, funding request, and budget for the LDPP.
DHCS reviewed the application process during a webinar on June 14, 2016. The deadline for submitting the LDPP application passed on September 30, 2016. A maximum of 15 LDPPs were selected.
