The Medi-Cal Eligibility Division (MCED) is responsible for the development, coordination, clarification, and implementation of Medi-Cal regulations, policy, and procedures to assure Medi-Cal eligibility is determined accurately and timely by the 58 county human services agencies.

The Breast and Cervical Cancer Treatment Program (BCCTP) provides needed cancer treatment to eligible individuals diagnosed with breast and/or cervical cancer and who are in need of treatment.

Presumptive Eligibility

The Presumptive Eligibility (PE) for pregnant women program is designed for low-income California residents.

The Hospital Presumptive Eligibility (HPE) program provides individuals with temporary, no-cost, Medi-Cal benefits for up to two months.  

The COVID-19 Presumptive Eligibility Program allows individuals to seek the necessary diagnostic testing and testing-related services related to COVID-19.

Former Foster Care Youth

Individuals who were in foster care at age 18 are now eligible for Medi-Cal until age 26.

The Medi-Cal Access Program (MCAP)  provides health insurance coverage to uninsured, middle income pregnant women.
