遠隔医療の定義
非同期ストアとフォワード:
The transmission of a patient’s medical information from an originating site to the health care provider at a distant site without the presence of the patient. (Business and Professions Code section 2290.5(a)(1))
遠隔サイト:
A site where a health care provider who provides health care services is located while providing these services via a telecommunications system. (Business and Professions Code section 2290.5(a)(2))
E-コンサルティング:
Asynchronous health record consultation services that provide an assessment and management service in which the patient’s treating health care practitioner (i.e., attending or primary) requests the opinion and/or treatment advice of another health care practitioner (i.e., consultant) with specific specialty expertise to assist in the diagnosis and/or management of the patient’s health care needs without patient face-to-face contact with the consultant. E-consults between health care providers are designed to offer a coordinated multidisciplinary case reviews, advisory opinions, and recommendations of care. (Medi-Cal Provider Manual: Telehealth)

医療提供者：
事業専門職法典第2部に基づいて免許を取得した者、準結婚・家族療法士、資格を有する自閉症サービス提供者または資格を有する自閉症サービス専門家、準臨床ソーシャルワーカー、準専門臨床カウンセラー。（事業・職業法典第2290.5条(a)(3)）
インタラクティブ通信システム:
患者と遠隔地の医師または医療従事者との間で双方向のリアルタイムな対話型通信を可能にする、少なくとも音声および映像機器を含むマルチメディア通信機器。電話、ファクシミリ、電子メールシステムは、双方向通信システムの定義を満たさない。（連邦規則集第42編第410.78条(a)(3)）

同期インタラクション:

オーディオのみの同期インタラクション:

ビデオ同期インタラクション:
患者と医療提供者との間のリアルタイムのインタラクションは、オーディオ機能とビジュアル機能の両方を含むインタラクティブなテクノロジープラットフォームを介して行われます。
遠隔医療:
The mode of delivering health care services and public health via information and communication technologies to facilitate the diagnosis, consultation, treatment, education, care management, and self-management of a patient’s health care. Telehealth facilitates patient self-management and caregiver support for patients and includes synchronous interactions and asynchronous store and forward transfers.
