Effective 4/1/2022 to 6/30/2024

The Budget Act of 2021 authorized DHCS to implement a Medi-Cal eligibility and enrollment outreach program. This project is funded through a DHCS contract with CSAC Finance Corporation, with a prime subcontract with California Coverage & Health Initiatives (CCHI).  CCHI will contract with counties and community-based organizations (CBOs) to serve the following Medi-Cal populations:

1. Dual eligible beneficiaries or beneficiaries age 65 and older with pending Medi-Cal eligibility redetermination. 
2. Individuals age 65 and older or with disabilities who are potentially eligible for Medi-Cal but not already enrolled in Medi-Cal, including those eligible for the Medicare Savings Programs.
3. Individuals newly eligible for Medi-Cal due to the Medi-Cal expansion to adults age 50 and older regardless of immigration status.
4. Medi-Cal beneficiaries turning age 65 not already enrolled in Medicare, contingent on an agreement with one or more Medi-Cal plans for that county.
5. People age 65 and older who are already enrolled in Medi-Cal and need assistance with determining Medicare eligibility.
