Laws and Regulations

The DHCS was created and is directly governed by California statutes (state laws) passed by the California Legislature. These statutes grant DHCS the authority to establish its programs and adopt regulations. Regulations (also called administrative laws) are rules that set out the requirements and procedures to support the administration and utilization of DHCS programs. The links below provide access to proposed and existing statutes and regulations relevant to the DHCS, other useful legal information and related DHCS offices.
