A participant or potential participant may request any licensed DUI program to conduct a financial assessment to determine his/her ability to pay the listed program fee. DUI programs may not require participants to first enroll into the program in order to receive a financial assessment. Based on the results of the financial assessment, participants may be eligible to pay a maximum fee of $5 per month, or qualify for a reduced program fee or an extended payment plan. Financial assessments must be completed within five days of request by the participant or DUI program, but not more frequently than every 30 days. Participants may request DHCS to review a financial assessment conducted by the DUI program to determine compliance in accordance with Title 9, Section 9879.
