Provider Directory and Formulary API Public Endpoints
As required by the CMS Interoperability and Patient Access (CMS-9115-F) final rule, the following public FHIR R4 endpoints are available for download in machine-readable JSON format. You need an app or system that reads JSON format to use the API endpoints as they cannot be viewed in a regular internet browser.
Provider Directory API
The Provider Directory API endpoints include Medi-Cal in-network provider and pharmacy information in JSON format. Navigate to the Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) Developer Portal to access the URLs to access and automatically download the JSON files that together make up the Provider Directory API. DHCS Developer Portal Note: The use of pagination is strongly encouraged to prevent timeout by attempting to ingest the large file size of FHIR JSON data by the receiving system while using the Provider Directory APIs.
