Mga Update sa Programa

Mga FAQ sa Pagiging Karapat-dapat sa Medi-Cal Immigrant

DHCS posted updated frequently asked questions (FAQ) on Medi-Cal eligibility. If you do not find an answer to your question, you may contact your local county office (by phone or in person) or email Medi-Cal member support for help in your preferred language. Also, on June 13, DHCS issued a statement about its commitment to protecting the privacy and well-being of all Medi-Cal members. Recent reports have raised serious concerns about how federal agencies may be using Medicaid data, including the personal data of all 15 million Californians covered by Medi-Cal.

Quality Incentive Pool (QIP) Program Year 6 Evaluation Report

On June 19, DHCS posted the QIP Program Year 6 (calendar year 2023) evaluation report, as required by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS). QIP began in 2017 to incentivize Designated Public Hospital (DPH) and District and Municipal Public Hospital (DMPH) systems to improve the quality of care provided to Medi-Cal members. QIP is a directed payment program under Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) Section 438.6(c), which provides states with the flexibility to implement delivery system and provider payment initiatives under Medicaid managed care plan contracts.

QIP supports the state’s quality strategy by tying funding to performance on specific high-priority measures. The evaluation report assesses the impact of $2.2 billion in directed payments to participating hospital systems in 2023, based on the quality of inpatient and outpatient services for Medi-Cal members who received care at DPHs and DMPHs. In 2023, DHCS continued to require DPHs to make improvements on a set of nine mandatory priority measures and continue meaningful work on some of the 47 elective measures selected by each QIP entity. DPHs improved on eight of nine priority measures, and DMPHs improved on seven of nine priority measures, as compared with 2022. The report also showed QIP entities met performance targets more frequently in 2023 than in 2022.
