Mga Update sa Programa​​ 

Inilabas ng DHCS ang Updated Community Supports Policy Guide – Volume 1 at 2​​  

On April 30, DHCS released an updated Community Supports Policy Guide, reorganized into two volumes to provide clearer and more targeted guidance. Volume 1 includes updated service definitions for eight Community Supports that address members’ health-related social needs, including Medically Tailored Meals/Medically Supportive Food, Asthma Remediation, and Transitions from Assisted Living Facilities or Institutional Settings. Volume 2 focuses on housing-related Community Supports, including the new Transitional Rent benefit, and provides guidance on services designed to support members experiencing or at risk of homelessness. Transitional Rent will be optional for managed care plans to offer starting on July 1, 2025, and will become the first mandatory Community Support on January 1, 2026.​​

Inilunsad ng DHCS ang Mobile Optometric Services Program​​  

Noong Abril 17, inilunsad ng DHCS ang Mobile Vision Services Program, na nagbibigay ng libreng vision screening, eksaminasyon, salamin, at mga kagamitan sa eyewear on-site sa mga paaralan sa California para sa mga mag-aaral na may mababang kita na may edad 4 hanggang 18. Nakipagkontrata ang DHCS sa Vision To Learn (VTL), isang kawanggawa na mobile optometry provider na kasalukuyang nagpapatakbo sa mga paaralan sa Bay Area, Sacramento, Inland Empire, Orange County, Greater Los Angeles Area, at San Diego, upang magbigay ng mga serbisyo ng mobile optometry. Iniaatas ng Senate Bill 502 (Kabanata 487, Mga Batas ng 2023) na ang pondo na ibibigay ng estado para sa programa ay dapat ibigay sa pamamagitan ng pagkakawanggawa sa halip na sa Pangkalahatang Pondo ng estado. Isinasagawa na ang mga pagsisikap sa pangangalap ng pondo. Habang nakalikom ang mga pondo, palalawakin ng VTL ang programa sa mga karagdagang lugar sa estado. Dental Managed Care Transition​​  

During the week of April 28, DHCS mailed 60-day notices to approximately 350,000 Medi-Cal members in Sacramento and Los Angeles counties to notify them of upcoming changes to their dental service delivery, effective July 1, 2025. The member notices explain what is changing, whether the member needs to make a plan choice, continuity of care protections, and other important information. The mailings also include a Medi-Cal managed care enrollment packet. Members in Sacramento County currently enrolled in Access Dental Plan or dental fee-for-service (FFS) must select a new Dental Managed Care plan, while members in Los Angeles County who do not choose a Dental Managed Care plan will remain in FFS. Members already enrolled with Health Net or Liberty will not be affected by these changes. Changing Dental Managed Care plans will not affect Medi-Cal coverage or benefits. Members will receive another notice 30 days prior to the effective date of the changes.​​  

Bukod pa rito, sa Mayo, maglulunsad ang Medi-Cal Health Care Options (HCO) ng isang outbound call campaign sa mga miyembrong makakatanggap ng Medi-Cal managed care enrollment packet. Sa mga tawag na ito, susuriin ng mga kinatawan ng HCO ang mga available na pagpipilian sa plano ng Dental Managed Care, sasagutin ang anumang mga katanungan, at padadaliin ang pagpapatala sa napiling plano ng miyembro sa pamamagitan ng telepono. Smile, California: Kindergarten Oral Health Assessment Campaign​​  

Watch for updates from Smile, California in May to help promote the Kindergarten Oral Health Assessment (KOHA) and encourage families to use their Medi-Cal dental benefits. Updates will include new homepage banners, email signature banners, social media posts, and newsletter content in both English and Spanish. Partner organizations are welcome to request physical KOHA toolkits to support events and organizational outreach efforts within your communities. You may request a physical toolkit by filling out and submitting the KOHA Toolkit Request Form. Huling Doula Implementation Workgroup Meeting​​     

On May 9, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., DHCS will host the final Doula Implementation Workgroup meeting, as required by Senate Bill 65 (Chapter 449, Statutes of 2021), to examine implementation of the Medi-Cal doula benefit. The workgroup meeting, which is open to the public, will be held at 1501 Capitol Avenue in Sacramento. DHCS will present highlights from the draft report, including the workgroup’s recommendations. The final report is scheduled to be posted on the DHCS website by July 1, 2025. Please see the Doula Implementation Stakeholder Workgroup webpage for more information.​​  

ECM Best Practices Webinar​​  

On May 16, from 10 to 11 a.m. PDT, DHCS will host a public webinar, “Connecting Services for the ECM Justice-Involved Population of Focus Throughout the Reentry and Post-Release Process” (advance registration required). Guest speakers include HC2 Strategies and Scott Coffin of Serrano Advisors LLC. The webinar will help participants recognize the benefits of utilizing justice-involved referral and billing toolkits, identify strategies to increase justice-involved referrals for ECM and Community Supports providers, and discuss a reentry care plan designed to support linkages and handoffs to community-based organizations, justice-involved agencies, and managed care plans. Proposisyon 35: Protektahan ang Access sa Health Care Act-Stakeholder Advisory Committee (SAC) ​​  

Sa Mayo 19, mula 10:00 ng umaga hanggang 3:00 ng hapon PDT, gaganapin ng DHCS ang susunod na pagpupulong para sa Protect Access to Health Care Act-SAC. Ang komiteng ito ang may pananagutan sa pagpapayo sa DHCS sa pagbuo at pagpapatupad ng mga bahagi ng Protect Access to Health Care Act of 2024 (Proposition 35). Ipo-post ang mga materyales para sa pulong habang papalapit ang petsa ng pulong. Pakitingnan ang webpage ng Protect Access to Health Care Act-SAC para sa karagdagang impormasyon tungkol sa pulong. Naglathala ang DHCS ng mga madalas itanong upang ipaliwanag ang Managed Care Organization Tax ng California at kung paano umuusad ang implementasyon ng Proposition 35. Stakeholder Advisory Committee (SAC)/Behavioral Health (BH)-SAC Meeting​​   

On May 21, from 9:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. PDT, DHCS will host the hybrid SAC/BH-SAC meeting (advance registration required for online and in-person participation) at 1700 K Street (first-floor conference room 17.1014), Sacramento. SAC provides DHCS with valuable input and feedback on efforts to provide equitable access to quality health care. BH-SAC provides DHCS with input on behavioral health initiatives and was created as part of the ongoing effort to integrate behavioral health with the greater health care system. Serye ng Webinar ng Coverage Ambassador: Birthing Care Pathway ​​  

Sa Mayo 29, mula 11:00 ng umaga hanggang 12:00 ng tanghali PDT, magsasagawa ang DHCS ng isang webinar para sa Coverage Ambassador na tututok sa inisyatibo ng DHCS tungkol sa Birthing Care Pathway (kinakailangan ang maagang pagpaparehistro). Ang webinar ay magbibigay ng impormasyon tungkol sa mga serbisyo sa panganganak para sa mga buntis at postpartum na miyembro ng Medi-Cal mula sa paglilihi hanggang 12 buwan pagkatapos manganak. Ang inisyatibong ito ay nakakatulong upang matiyak na ang mga miyembro ng Medi-Cal ay may access sa mataas na kalidad at patas na pangangalaga upang mapabuti ang mga resulta sa kalusugan ng ina at mabawasan ang mga disparidad. Matututunan din ng mga Coverage Ambassador ang tungkol sa mga pahina ng social media ng DHCS, na nag-aalok ng mga napapanahong impormasyon sa mga kaugnay na paksa na maaaring makinabang kapwa ang mga Coverage Ambassador at mga miyembro ng Medi-Cal.​​
