DHCS is celebrating accomplishments one year from the publication of the Birthing Care Pathway Report, a key initiative to improve maternal health outcomes for expecting parents enrolled in Medi-Cal. Get a look at the progress we’ve made toward improving birthing care in California.
Medi-Cal Turns 60
Medi-Cal marks its 60th anniversary this year, and DHCS is proud of its long-standing role in helping millions of Californians access essential care. Today, more than 14 million people receive behavioral health, dental, vision, long-term care, and other vital services through Medi-Cal. Throughout 2026, DHCS will highlight the members, teams, partners, and programs that shape Medi-Cal’s impact. Follow along and share your #MediCal60 stories as we celebrate this milestone together.
