On June 24, the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) approved State Plan Amendment (SPA) 25-0014, making Certified Wellness Coaches (CWC) eligible for reimbursement through Medi-Cal. Employers can now bill Medi-Cal to help offset the cost of hiring and retaining CWCs, strengthening their impact in communities statewide. The CWC certification, available at no cost, continues to grow as a promising workforce strategy.
