Round 5: Crisis and Behavioral Health Continuum

BHCIP Round 5: Crisis and Behavioral Health Continuum grant funding awards of $430 million were announced in June 2023. Through this round of funding, DHCS focused on expanding the range of crisis and behavioral health services in the care continuum statewide to reduce emergency department visits, hospitalizations, and incarceration.

Round 5: Crisis and Behavioral Health Continuum Dashboard

  1. Adult Residential Substance Use Disorder (SUD) facilities are required to obtain at least one DHCS Level of Care (LOC) Designation and/or at least one residential ASAM LOC Certification to comply with license compliance requirements.
  2. The Community Wellness Center facility type is primarily designated as a mental health (MH) outpatient facility though may offer services for SUD or integrated MH and SUD care.
