The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) Crisis Care Mobile Units (CCMU) program continues to equip communities in California with behavioral health resources that improve health outcomes and decrease unnecessary use of jails and emergency services.

DHCS has awarded more than $202 million to 77 behavioral health authorities or Tribal entities in order produce or improve mobile crisis response teams in the state of California.

Round 1: Crisis Care Mobile Units Dashboard

1. Adult Residential Substance Use Disorder (SUD) facilities are required to obtain at least one DHCS Level of Care (LOC) Designation and/or at least one residential ASAM LOC Certification to comply with license compliance requirements.
2. The Community Wellness Center facility type is primarily designated as a mental health (MH) outpatient facility though may offer services for SUD or integrated MH and SUD care.
