Privacy

When you apply for Medi-Cal, your personal information is kept private. The state only uses your information to find out if you qualify. The federal government funds some of Medi-Cal, and the state must share some of your information with the US Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services, a federal agency within the United States Department of Health and Human Services. Federal laws and policies provide some protections of people’s personal information.                        

           
       
26-49 Years Old
If you are 26 – 49 years old and qualify:
  • Until December 31, 2023 - You will get emergency Medi-Cal.
  • Starting January 1, 2024 - You will get full Medi-Cal.
​Californians under 26 years of age, or over 50 years of age, are already eligible for full Medi-Cal​.​
           
​I Already Have Emergency​ Medi-Cal
  • You do not need to fill out a new application for full Medi-Cal.
  • You will automatically be enrolled into full Medi-Cal on January 1, 2024.
  • You may get a Medi-Cal renewal packet in the mail. Fill out and return as quickly as possible or you may lose your Medi-Cal.
