On February 9, DHCS posted California Advancing and Innovating Medi-Cal (CalAIM) SNF and Subacute Care Facility Carve-In: Resources for Managed Care Plans (MCP), a guide for Medi-Cal MCPs transitioning LTC members to managed care. The resource provides information about contracting requirements, promising practices, and suggested model contract language for the SNF and Subacute Care Facility LTC Carve-In. The resource, as well as additional information about the SNF and Subacute Care Facility Carve-Ins, is available on the LTC Carve-In and CalAIM Subacute Care Facility LTC Carve-In webpages.​​

Agenda topics include updates on the 2024 Medi-Cal MCP transition and Medicare Medi-Cal Plan expansion, Medicare enrollment data, and 2024 and 2025 Dual Eligible Special Needs Plan (D-SNP) Policy Guide development. There will also be a presentation on Medicare behavioral health changes in 2024 for dual eligible members. The workgroup will feature guest presenters from the federal Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services who will present on this year’s Medicare changes to behavioral health provider types.​​

On February 28, from 3 to 4 p.m., DHCS will host an office hours session (advance registration required) as part of its educational webinar series on the CalAIM ICF/DD Carve-In. The office hours provide a dedicated forum for DHCS and the Department of Developmental Services to engage with ICF/DD Homes, Regional Centers, and Medi-Cal MCP representatives to address questions related to ICF/DD Carve-In policy requirements and implementation of the transition to managed care that took effect on January 1, 2024.​​
