Insurance Claims Data

The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is releasing this Request for Information (RFI) #25-070 to gather information from entities that will help DHCS finalize an RFP that encourages bidder interest and alert potential bidders to the upcoming release of the Personal Injury Insurance Claims Data RFP. The Personal Injury Insurance Claims Data Contractor will be responsible for providing DHCS and the Third Party Liability and Recovery Division (TPLRD) with personal injury insurance claims data involving Medi-Cal members.

Under federal and state law, Medi-Cal members, their legal representatives, and insurance carriers are required to report any personal injury claims that may result in monetary compensation—such as those arising from auto accidents, slip and fall, or premises liability. Failure to report these claims can lead to reduced third-party liability recoveries for the State of California and the federal government, potentially impacting the Medi-Cal program's ability to recoup the cost of benefits provided. 

This RFI is issued for information and planning purposes only and does not constitute a solicitation. A response to this RFI is not an offer and cannot be accepted by the State to form a binding contract. Respondents are solely responsible for all expenses associated with responding to this RFI. DHCS asks willing Respondents to share nonbinding budgetary pricing information for each identified solution where requested. Pricing is only for planning purposes. Any pricing provided in a response to this RFI will not be considered an offer on the part of a Respondent.

​​The Procurement and Contracting Division announces the release of the Request for Information 25-070.

IMPORTANT:  This RFI has been officially released to the California State Contracts Register (CSCR) using the Cal eProcure/Fi$Cal website. Please use the instructions provided below to navigate to, and download, the RFI. All subsequent document releases for this RFI will also be made to the Cal eProcure/Fi$Cal website. As noted on the PCD home page, it is highly recommended that all vendors wishing to contract with the State of California complete registration for the Cal eProcure/Fi$Cal system as it is the official location for RFP/IFB releases. Registration will also allow vendors to receive automatic notifications when contracting opportunities are posted for business categories of their choosing. If selected as a contractor, this system will be used for payments covered by the contract.
