39. How do I access emergency mental health services?

CalHOPE offers crisis-counseling support for the stress and anxiety: call 833 317-HOPE (4673), or go to CalHOPE Website for self-help tools or for on-line chat with a counselor. If it's an emergency—for example, someone is suicidal or in a crisis—call 911.

You can access non-specialty mental health treatment through your managed care plan (call the number on the back of your insurance card) or specialty mental health treatment through your county mental health plan – you can find the phone number at the link: MHP Contact List

If you are experiencing a mental health crisis and need emergency assistance, please call 911.

40. How do I access substance use disorder treatment services?

You can call the national treatment help line at 1-800-662-HELP (4357)  or the California non-emergency treatment referral line at (800) 879-2772. You may also find your county-specific access information at Services Directories
