​​​Medi-Cal Eligibi​lity for Citizens of the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall​ Islands or Palau​​

On December 27, 2020, the Consolidated Appropriation Act was signed into law. The new law, (H.R. 133: Consolidated Appropriations Act, Division CC, Title II, Section 208) 
allows individuals from any of the member sovereign states of the Compact of Free Association (COFA) to be considered Qualified Non-Citizens (QNCs).

The Compact of Free Association is applicable to citizens of the Federated States of Micronesia, the Republic of the Marshall Islands, and the Republic of Palau. Under the new law, individuals from one of the COFA states are eligible for full scope Medi-Cal, regardless of age or pregnancy status, if they meet all Medi-Cal eligibility requirements.
