Population of Focus
Medi-Cal members represent the ethnic and cultural diversity of California’s population. As of July 2023, the approximate racial/ethnic distribution of the Medi-Cal population consisted of the following racial/ethnic groups: Hispanic (50.7 percent), White (16.4 percent), Not Reported (16.2), Asian (9.3 percent), Black or African American (6.9 percent), and American Indian or Alaskan Native (0.4 percent).
