This Request for Information (RFI) due on June 1, 2011, the California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) has solicited for input concerning the ideal model or models for serving beneficiaries who are eligible for both Medicare and Medi-Cal. Dually eligible beneficiaries are not a homogenous group of people, and DHCS requested ideas on possible models to meet the needs of people who are younger and physically disabled and those who are older and chronically ill, as well as people who have intellectual and developmental disabilities, and those who have serious mental illness.
On Aug. 30, 2011, DHCS hosted a stakeholder meeting at which all RFI respondents presented. More than 300 people attended.
