Pay the Medi-Cal Lien
You can pay the Medi-Cal lien by submitting an electronic funds transfer payment online or sending a payment by check in the mail. All payments must include the member's DHCS account number to ensure the payment is applied to the correct account. Partial payments will be credited to the account but will not be considered as full payment of the lien.
Payment by Electronic Funds Transfer (EFT). We provide the following payment options:
- One-Time Payment: Ideal for Medi-Cal member or entities that manage few cases.
- Enrolled User Payment: Ideal for entities that manage numerous cases and make multiple payments. This option allows the user to schedule future payments and track payment history. To become an enrolled user, complete the following:
- Step 1: Complete an enrollment form. Allow five (5) business days for DHCS to confirm the information and create your Enrolled User account.
- Step 2: Register as an Enrolled User. Follow the instructions provided by DHCS upon receiving your confirmation of enrollment.
If you have questions about the EFT process, you can review our informational guide for further instructions or visit the Third Party Liability and Recovery Division's EFT webpage.
Payment by check: Send the check and include the member's DHCS account number to the address provided below. Allow 15 to 30 business days for DHCS to receive and apply the payment to the member's account.
