The Department of Health Care Services (DHCS), Benefits Division (BD) is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing Medi-Cal medical coverage policy for most health care services provided by California's federal Medicaid program (called Medi-Cal), which includes both the fee-for-service (FFS) and managed care delivery systems.

Medi-Cal Benefits
Once you are determined to be eligible for Medi-Cal, you will have access to a core set of health benefits (known as Essential Health Benefits (EHBs)), including doctor visits, hospital care, immunization, pregnancy-related services, prescription drugs, mental health and substance use disorder services, dental, laboratory services, nursing home care, and more.
