Unwinding and Redeterminations Toolkit

The California Department of Health Care Services (DHCS) is conducting a statewide public information, education, and outreach campaign to raise awareness about the return of the annual Medi-Cal redetermination process. As of April 1, 2023, the message is to direct Medi-Cal members to take the necessary steps to keep themselves and their families covered!

To support collaboration with stakeholders, community organizations, and others on this effort, DHCS has posted a Keep your community covered in 19 threshold languages.

The social press kit provides easy-to-access, downloadable, and shareable messaging, social graphics, flyers, videos, toolkits, and more, including resources you can customize for your organization's needs.

DHCS Coverage Ambassadors

We encourage Californians to sign up to become a DHCS Coverage Ambassador to raise awareness of actions members must take and when they need to take them in order to maintain coverage. This work engages com​munity partners with necessary tools for reaching members and creates a consistent voice across community partners. We are using this channel of communication to get the message out to members and to collect information from DHCS Coverage Ambassadors for the campaign.

The Keep your community covered and Medi-Cal Continuous Coverage Requirement webpages are available to help DHCS Coverage Ambassadors customize communications to Medi-Cal members to encourage them to update their contact information with their counties. This will help ensure they receive important information about how to keep their Medi-Cal coverage.​
